Pyramids FC suffered a major setback in their Nile Egyptian League title challenge after being held to a 1-1 draw by Ceramica Cleopatra FC in a crucial Round 6 clash of the title phase.
The result represents a costly slip for Pyramids at a decisive stage of the season, potentially damaging their hopes of lifting the league title.
Ceramica Cleopatra struck first in the 32nd minute through Mohamed Reda Bobo after an excellent attacking move. Amr El Solia delivered a brilliant pass to Ayman Moka on the right flank, who skillfully advanced into the box before setting up Bobo for a finish past Ahmed El Shenawy.
Pyramids responded quickly just three minutes later when star striker Fiston Mayele provided an intelligent assist for Nasser Maher, who fired home the equalizer in the 35th minute.
Despite their efforts, Pyramids were unable to find a winning goal, dropping two potentially decisive points in the title race.
The draw moves Pyramids to 51 points, leaving them second in the title phase standings, while Ceramica Cleopatra rise to 44 points in fourth place.
With only one round remaining, Pyramids now need favorable results elsewhere if they are to keep their championship dream alive.
