Former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has challenged Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen to consider a transfer move to the Premier League.
The Super Eagle, who currently is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, turns out for Süper Lig club Galatasaray and is the vice-captain of the Nigeria national team.
Osimhen is known for his explosive pace, physical strength, aerial ability, and clinical finishing, and is currently having a great season with the Turkish outfit.
“When you look at his mindset, his character, and his passion for the game, I think he belongs in the Premier League,” Malouda was quoted by Football London.
“Where would he fit? Each club has a different story, a different budget, contract conditions, and situations. But I think that’s what’s missing in his career now.
“I think his next step is the Premier League and the Champions League, where he can play in a team that can win it. I would say Chelsea, and maybe Liverpool, are the clubs that would suit him way better than Manchester United.
“He is very energetic, he’s a leader, he is the kind of player that the fans would love.”
Osimhen finished in eighth place at the 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony, becoming the first Nigerian to make the top ten of the French award.
He was also named the African Footballer of the Year at the 2023 CAF Awards, the first Nigerian to receive this honour since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.
