Entebbe UPPC FC continued their impressive run in the Uganda Premier League with a deserved 2-0 victory over UPDF FC on Thursday at Bugonga.
Despite the encounter starting 22 minutes later than scheduled due to the delayed arrival of match officials, the hosts wasted no time once action got underway.
Playing on a wet surface after earlier rainfall, Entebbe UPPC struck almost immediately through Issa Bugembe, whose third-minute effort handed the home side an early advantage.
The visitors responded with greater urgency after the break as they searched for a way back into the contest, but Entebbe UPPC remained organised and dangerous on the counterattack.
Substitute Muhammad Kyeyune eventually put the result beyond doubt in the closing stages. Having replaced Julius Poloto in the 79th minute, Kyeyune needed only 10 minutes to make his impact felt as he calmly netted the second goal to seal all three points for the hosts.

The victory means Entebbe UPPC complete a league double over UPDF FC after also edging the reverse fixture 1-0 earlier in the season. The result lifts them into sixth place on 46 points, now sitting just five points away from the top four positions.
For UPDF FC, the defeat leaves them hovering above the relegation zone by five points, though that cushion could shrink further depending on Friday’s result between Buhimba United Saints and Express FC.
Entebbe UPPC will next travel to face Maroons FC on May 12, while UPDF FC return home to take on KCCA FC the following day at Bombo.
