Tanzanian giants Simba SC have officially confirmed a change of home venue, moving from Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium in Mbweni to KMC Complex Stadium in Mwenge, Dar es Salaam, ahead of their upcoming NBC Premier League fixtures.
The decision was announced on Thursday, May 7, 2026, just a day after Simba head coach Steve Barker openly criticized the playing surface at Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium following his side’s narrow 1-0 victory over JKT Tanzania in the NBC Premier League.

Speaking after the match, Barker expressed frustration over the condition of the pitch, saying it had negatively affected Simba’s ability to play their usual style of football. The South African tactician explained that his players were forced to rely more on physical effort rather than the quick passing and attacking football the team is known for.
The coach noted that the heavy surface made movement difficult and disrupted the rhythm of the game, despite Simba managing to secure all three points.
This was not the first time Barker raised concerns over the pitch conditions. After the recent Kariakoo Derby against rivals Young Africans SC, which ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw, he also pointed to the poor playing surface as one of the major challenges his players faced during the encounter.
Simba’s return to KMC Complex means the club will host their next league fixture against Tanzania Prisons at the venue on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
The move also makes Simba the third club currently using KMC Complex for home matches, alongside the stadium owners KMC FC and reigning Mainland Premier League champions Young Africans SC.
Interestingly, Simba had previously used KMC Complex as their home ground before relocating to Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium, leaving Yanga and KMC as the main tenants at the venue.
Following the clash against Tanzania Prisons, Simba will continue their busy league schedule with an away trip to Kigoma to face Mashujaa FC before traveling to Tanga for another difficult fixture against Coastal Union at Mkwakwani Stadium.
Currently, Simba sit second in the Mainland Premier League standings with 46 points, five behind league leaders Yanga, who have collected 51 points following the recent derby draw between the two sides.
Despite the gap, Simba remain firmly in the title race as they continue their pursuit of a first league championship in five seasons.
