Galatasaray Vice President Abdullah Kavukcu has revealed that Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta was left surprised by the valuation the Turkish giants have placed on striker Victor Osimhen.

Following a successful loan spell from Napoli, the Turkish Super Lig champions acquired the Nigerian international on a permanent deal last summer after triggering his €75 million release clause—even though the striker remained on the radar of several Premier League and Saudi Arabian clubs.
Speaking to HT Spor regarding the possibility of Osimhen’s departure, Kavukcu noted that many factors must be considered before agreeing to a sale.
“I wouldn’t sell him for 150 million euros, but it’s a matter for our president to decide. When you sell him, you also need to find a replacement player. That’s very important. The Arsenal sporting director came here recently and even he was surprised that we were paying these amounts. Their budget is 800 million euros. We will have a budget of 500 million euros this year.”
Kavukcu also highlighted the commercial impact Osimhen has had on Galatasaray, revealing that the Super Eagles star continues to generate significant revenue off the pitch.
“Osimhen will continue. We expect to generate approximately 22 million euros from it. We also have three advertising deals with Victor. We receive 2 million euros from each of them for advertising shoots. We collect 6 million euros from this. The Osimhen transfer has added a lot to us; we have reaped the rewards of our ambition.”
Osimhen scored a brace on Saturday as Galatasaray came from behind to defeat Antalyaspor 4-2, securing their fourth consecutive Super Lig title.
