Salah returns from injury ahead of Aston Villa clash

Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has returned to Liverpool squad ahead of their Premier League fixture against Aston Villa on Friday.

Salah has recovered from the muscle issue that sidelined him for the last two games and should be able to play in a role in the final away match of his Reds career.

The Egyptian star has been out of the line-up since suffering a hamstring injury during Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

‘Hopefully he can come in’

“Mo (Salah) will be available tomorrow but only for a few minutes. Hopefully he can come in,” Slot told reporters ahead of Friday’s trip to Villa.

Salah has produced 130 goal involvements (83 goals, 47 assists) in away Premier League fixtures, with only Wayne Rooney (139), Ryan Giggs (137) and Harry Kane (135) having more in the competition’s history.

Salah is set to bring the curtain down on his illustrious career with Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season. The forward reached an agreement with the Reds that will see him close a remarkable nine-year chapter at Anfield.

Salah set to leave Liverpool

Signed from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, the No.11 established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history, helping the club to two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups, as well as an FA Community Shield.

His tally of 255 goals in 435 appearances to date has the Egyptian sitting third on the Reds’ all-time leading goalscorers chart, winning the Premier League Golden Boot on four occasions in addition to a host of personal accolades.

A victory in this fixture would all but secure fourth position ahead of their final game against Brentford due to their superior goal difference over the Villans.
