AmaZulu FC have thrown their full weight behind their fellow South African top-flight league side Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of their CAF Champions League showdown with AS FAR.
The Betway Premiership defending champions will host the Moroccans at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday, 17 May 2026, in the CAF Champions League final, first leg.
The Botola Pro outfit will then welcome Masandawana on 24 May in Rabat, with the overall winner over the two legs claiming the continental league crown.

Realising the significance of Sunday’s final, AmaZulu FC, who are also called Usuthu, have extended their best wishes to the Tshwane giants ahead of the final against AS FAR.
In a statement issued on Friday, 15 May, Usuthu said the final was not only about their Pretoria-based counterparts, but South African football pride was also at stake.
“We, therefore, call upon all AmaZulu supporters and the broader football community to unite behind Mamelodi Sundowns in this important final,” reads the statement.
“We encourage our supporters to come out in numbers at Loftus Versfeld Stadium dressed proudly in full AmaZulu regalia as a symbol of national unity and football solidarity.
“To Mamelodi Sundowns, the technical team, management, players, and supporters — we wish you strength, courage, and success as you fly the South African flag high.”
Usuthu are the only South African top-flight side that have openly shown their support for the Betway Premiership defending champions, whose coach Miguel Cardoso has been complaining about the scheduling of the domestic league matches.
The Portuguese noted that their opponents, AS FAR, were being granted a waiver from Botola Pro fixtures to enable them to reserve energy for the Champions League final.
Masandawana have been busy juggling between continental and domestic league assignments; they even lost 3-2 to TS Galaxy FC on Tuesday.
The defeat all but ended the holders’ title hopes. They finished the season with a tally of 68 points, three points ahead of second-placed Orlando Pirates, who have two games to wind up the season.
