Omorinsola “Rinsola” Babajide has reflected on winning the first league title of her professional career, charting an incredible journey from the streets of Brixton to helping AS Roma clinch the 2025/26 Serie A Femminile championship.

Roma secured their third league title in four years, with Babajide and teammate Shukurat Oladipo making history as the first Nigerian internationals from the same club to lift the Italian women’s top-flight title together.

A milestone of perseverance

The Super Falcons forward took to Instagram to celebrate the milestone, describing the triumph as a reward for years of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance throughout her football career.

“CHAMPIONSSSS; From cage football in Brixton with Afewes training centre to winning the Serie A Women’s league in Rome,” Babajide wrote. “Growing up I always felt like we weren’t meant to make it out of where I’m from but we break barriers and change the odds regardless and I don’t take this one lightly.”

She also expressed deep gratitude to her family, fans, community, and loved ones for their unwavering support during her rise to the top of European women’s football.

“Thankful for my community, fans & loved ones! Yous are the best God did! season after season of persistency, hard work, sacrifice, patience and self-belief which has made it all worth it. My 1st league title V Guys, always dream big & never give up, you never know how close you are towards achieving your goals.”

The Nigerian international joined AS Roma on July 14, 2025, and has since become an integral part of the team’s championship run, firmly strengthening her place in the squad.
