The Msimbazi giants showed their attacking strength from the opening whistle, dominating possession and pressing aggressively to overwhelm their opponents and keep alive their hopes of lifting domestic silverware this season.

Simba wasted little time in making their intentions clear, taking the lead in just the sixth minute through influential midfielder Clatous Chama. The Zambian star capitalised on a swift attacking move that caught the TRA United defence off guard, calmly finishing to hand his side an early advantage.

The goal settled Simba and increased their confidence as they continued to attack with pace and intensity. TRA United struggled to cope with Simba’s high pressing game and found it difficult to create meaningful chances against the organised backline of the hosts.

Simba maintained control throughout the first half and doubled their lead before the break through forward Anicet Oura. The striker finished off another well-worked move to send the Reds into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 cushion and full control of the contest.

The second half followed a similar pattern as Simba refused to sit back despite holding a two-goal lead. Their relentless attacking approach paid off with two additional goals that completed an emphatic 4-0 victory and confirmed their place among the final four teams in the competition.

The dominant result underlined Simba’s determination to challenge for the Federation Cup title and offered another reminder of the team’s attacking quality as the business end of the season approaches.

By securing victory over TRA United, Simba now advance to the semi-finals where they will face Coastal Union FC. The Tanga-based side earlier booked their place in the last four after defeating Singida Black Stars 4-2 on penalties following a goalless draw at the Mkwakwani Stadium.

Meanwhile, Azam FC also confirmed their place in the semi-finals after edging Mashujaa FC 1-0 in a tense quarter-final encounter at the Lake Tanganyika Stadium.

The decisive moment came in first-half stoppage time when midfielder Idd Nado scored in the 45+4th minute to hand Azam a narrow but valuable victory.

With all quarter-final fixtures now concluded, the CRDB Bank Federation Cup semi-final line-up has officially been confirmed. Defending champions Young Africans SC will take on Azam FC in a highly anticipated heavyweight showdown, while Simba SC prepare for a tough encounter against Coastal Union.

The Tanzania Football Federation is expected to announce the dates, venues and kick-off times for the semi-final fixtures in the coming days.
