Udinese names Maduka Okoye the Player of the Season

Following an outstanding campaign with the Italian Serie A club, goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been officially named Udinese’s 2025–26 Player of the Season.

​The Nigerian goalkeeper earned the recognition for his consistent and impressive performances for the Zebras throughout the season. He delivered a series of standout displays, particularly against Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan.

​A remarkable comeback at Udinese

​Okoye missed the opening two months of the campaign after being suspended over an alleged match-fixing scandal. However, the 26-year-old bounced back strongly to reclaim the club’s number one position, keeping 10 clean sheets in 29 league appearances for his side this season.

​To cap off his incredible run, Okoye has also been shortlisted for the Serie A Player of the Month award for May.
