Morocco star Achraf Hakimi sends farewell message to Walid Regragui after coach’s exit

Achraf Hakimi, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, shared a message to bid farewell to Walid Regragui following the confirmation of the coach’s departure from the Morocco national football team.

Regragui decided to leave Morocco national team after three and a half years in charge of the Atlas Lions. The Moroccan coach had written his name in history after guiding the Atlas Lions to the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

In a message published on his official account on X (Twitter), Hakimi expressed his gratitude to the departing coach.

“Walid Regragui, thank you for the exceptional work you accomplished at the head of the Moroccan national team,” Hakimi wrote.

He added:

“Your leadership, passion and vision inspired not only the players but also an entire country and millions of fans around the world.”

Hakimi continued:

“Thank you for believing in Moroccan talent, strengthening the team spirit, and showing that with discipline, hard work, and above all sincere intention, great things can be achieved.”

The Moroccan defender emphasized the legacy Regragui leaves behind:

“You have left an unforgettable mark in the history of Moroccan football.”

He concluded his tribute with an emotional note:

“Thank you for making us dream and for carrying our colors with pride… Legend.”

It is worth noting that the Atlas Lions reached the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which was hosted in Morocco, but the Atlas Lions eventually lost the title to the Senegal national football team.
