Al Ahly club doctor Ahmed Gaballah has confirmed that Moroccan left-back Youssef Belammari has sustained a first-degree adductor muscle tear.
Gaballah stated:
“Belammari’s injury is a first-degree tear in the adductor muscle.”
He added:
“The player will undergo physiotherapy sessions and a rehabilitation program to prepare him for a return to action in the coming period.”
Belammari joined his team in January from Moroccan side Raja Casablanca and has made 11 appearances for the club since his arrival.
Belammari missed the friendly match against ZED on Monday due to the injury, which was played at Mokhtar El Tetsh Stadium.
The team has been granted two days off following the friendly.
The defending champions will not play in the third round of the final phase of the Egyptian league due to a bye.
They are set to face Pyramids in the fourth round at Cairo International Stadium.
Al Ahly comes third in the league standings, two points behind second-placed Pyramids and five points behind leaders Zamalek.
