Al-Nassr and Mané advance to AFC Champions League Two final with ease

Sadio Mané and Cristiano Ronaldo will have a golden opportunity at continental glory with Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Nassr following Wednesday’s 5-1 thrashing of Al Ahli Doha in the AFC Champions League Two semifinals.

The first ten minutes went poorly for the heavy favorites, who could have gone down two goals at the Zabeel Stadium in Dubai. Julian Draxler failed to convert a 7th minute penalty kick for Al Ahli but they took the lead three minutes later when Sekou Yansané opened the scoring.

From then on, everything went in favor of the Saudi giants. Kingsley Coman was set up by Ângelo to level the match a couple minutes later. Then the forward put his club ahead in the 23rd minute when Mané placed a perfect pass into the Brazilian’s path to finish.

Coman made it 3-1 in the final moments of first half stoppage time, which proved to be a deadly blow to the Qatari club. The Frenchman completed his hat-trick and a late goal finished off the thrashing against an Al Ahli defense that featured former Nigerian international William Troost-Ekong.

Mané was unfortunate to not get a goal but made a worthy contribution, bringing his totals to 3 goals and 3 assists from 7 matches in the competition.

Al Nassr advance to the final, where they will face Japanese club Gamba Osaka on May 17 in Riyadh. Mané now has 13 goals and 8 assists in 31 matches across all competitions this season.
