After almost ten months out of action due to a broken leg, former Ghana national team forward Bernard Tekpetey made a triumphant return to first team action on Monday with Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad.
With the Bulgarian title already secured, Monday was a perfect opportunity for the 27-year-old to return in a match with no pressure. Tekpetey played the first half and converted a penalty kick as Ludogrets drew 2-2 with FC Arda Kardzhali.
Tekpetey broke his leg in UEFA Champions League qualifying back in early August and was only able to feature in Ludgorets' domestic league opener against CSKA Sofia before his serious injury. The member of Ghana's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations squad has enjoyed plenty of success over the last four season with Ludogorets, accumulating 38 goals in 141 appearances for the club.
With one more year on his contract, Tekpetey will hope to gain full fitness for next season as Ludogorets attempt to reach the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.
