TS Galaxy's complacency baffles Beganovic - Betway Premiership

TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic says he is surprised by his players’ complacency now that the club has reached its top-eight target in South Africa's Betway Premiership.

The coach said that while fixture congestion leads to player burnout and loss of focus, he expected his side to finish strongly in the Betway Premiership despite realising their initial target.

“It is not easy to concentrate when you reach something. What we wanted was a top-eight spot. Maybe some players just said it was enough, we have reached what we wanted,” he told the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

However, the Croatian insisted that he expected the Rockets to keep up the momentum and even aim higher in the Betway Premiership run-in.

“For me, it is strange. It is difficult because every game is important for us and the club. I want to see all players on top of their game. We need to discuss what is happening, why we play the way we do, and why we don’t run more. I can guarantee that we have more quality. We need to show more, run, and fight for more second balls,” Adnan Beganovic.

TS Galaxy are winless in five league games (D2 L3). Their latest setback was a 1-0 defeat by Richards Bay on the weekend. Lying fifth in the table, the Rockets return to action on May 17 to face Orlando Pirates.
