Guinean prospect Mamady Cissé has successfully returned to first-team training with Brazilian giants Atletico Mineiro following a multi-week absence due to a physical setback.
The 18-year-old midfield sensation had been sidelined after sustaining a debilitating hamstring injury in his right thigh, an ailment that kept him off the pitch for the past several weeks.
The 36 Lions FC graduate officially rejoined Atletico Mineiro‘s full group training sessions on Thursday, with his medical team expecting him to reach 100% match fitness and full recovery in the coming weeks.
Cissé originally joined the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A outfit’s youth setup in 2025, making the high-profile move from Nigerian talent hub 36 Lion FC.
The youngster’s rise in Belo Horizonte has been rapid; he began training with the senior squad less than a month after his arrival in Brazil and went on to make his professional senior debut on 14 January of the following year.
For the current 2026 campaign, Cissé has already racked up a combined total of ten appearances across the Campeonato Mineiro, the national Série A, and the Copa Sudamericana.
Despite his consistent involvement at the club level in South America, the highly-rated midfielder is, however, yet to earn a recognised senior international cap for the Guinea national team.
