Zambia international Patson Daka was delighted to return to action for Leicester City in their 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday.
“Felt good to be back out there with the boys today despite the result. Thank you for your support,” said Daka on his social media pages.
Ahead of the game against Chelsea at King Power Stadium, Leicester manager Steve Cooper confirmed the return to fitness of the Chipolopolo forward: “Patson’s back in training. He’s available. Jamie has been back training with the group, but slightly modified, so we’ll see where he is for the weekend.”
Daka’s return, however, did not help Leicester as they ssuffered defeat. Goals in each half from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez took the points beyond the Foxes, before Jordan Ayew's added-time penalty.
A game which the visiting Blues dominated at times also involved moments of hope for City, who will feel a point was within their grasp at times during a feisty contest in LE2. It's nevertheless a defeat for Cooper's men against one of the early top-four contenders this season, leaving Leicester 15th ahead of the weekend's other fixtures.
Leicester made some changes, notably Abdul Fatawu’s exclusion, after it was confirmed that the Ghanian is set to be out with an ACL injury until the end of the season.
