Egypt to host Russia at Egypt Stadium ahead of 2026 World Cup

Egyptian Football Association has officially announced that Egypt national football team will face Russia national football team in an international friendly on May 28.

The friendly match will be held at Egypt Stadium inside the Egypt International Olympic City in the New Administrative Capital, offering the Pharaohs a test against European opposition.

This fixture is part of Egypt’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In addition to the Russia clash, Egypt are also scheduled to play a prestigious friendly against Brazil national football team on June 6, giving the team elite-level test before the World Cup.

Egypt’s 2026 World Cup Group

Egypt will compete in Group G, alongside:

• Belgium national football team
• Iran national football team
• New Zealand national football team
