Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC secured a crucial 1-0 victory over El Gouna FC in Round 9 of the Nile Egyptian League relegation survival phase, strengthening their hopes of avoiding the drop.
The decisive moment came in the 82nd minute when Shokry Naguib produced a brilliant strike near the edge of the penalty area, firing a powerful shot past goalkeeper Mohamed Alaa to seal all three points.
This valuable victory lifts Arab Contractors to 32 points, moving them up to 14th place and creating 4-point distance from the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, El Gouna’s difficult run continues, as they remain without a win in their last three matches, staying on 39 points after this result.
In another entertaining clash, Wadi Degla and Petrojet shared the points in a dramatic 2-2 draw.
Petrojet took the lead in the 10th minute through Adham Hamed from the penalty spot before Ivorian striker Franck Boli equalized for Wadi Degla in first-half stoppage time by converting a cross from Ahmed Dahish.
