A clash of Dutch giants on Sunday saw AFC Ajax take one giant step closer to claiming the Eredivisie title.
Ajax won 2-0 at PSV in Eindhoven to complete a season sweep of their rivals and Burkina Faso national team star Bertrand Traoré made a productive cameo off the bench. The former Olympique Lyonnais star doubled Ajax's lead in the second half with a trademark finish from the right flank.
Davy Klaasen previously put the league leaders ahead in the 35th minute. Despite PSV creating more danger throughout the match, a resilient Ajax defense was able to keep the home side scoreless while the attack made the most of their opportunities.
The goal from Traoré ended any doubts that Ajax would escape with all three points and take a nine-point lead with seven matches left to play. Traoré is enjoying an excellent season and staying healthy with 10 goals and 6 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, his most prolific campaign since the 2020-21 season when he first joined Premier League club Aston Villa.
