The journey to domestic cup glory in Ugandan women’s football is now mapped out after the draw for the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup was officially conducted on Monday, 13 April.

Held live on FUFA TV, the colorful event was steered by former Christine Wanyana, as 40 teams discovered their respective paths in this year’s competition.

Marking the seventh edition of the tournament, the draw laid out preliminary round fixtures involving 32 teams drawn from across the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League, FUFA Women Elite League, various regional leagues and a lone non-league entrant.

Meanwhile, eight sides that reached last year’s quarterfinals have been handed a direct passage to the round of 16.

These include Amus College, Kawempe Muslim, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC, Kampala Queens, Lady Doves, St Noa, She Corporate, and Wakiso Hill WFC.

Amus College enter the tournament as defending champions, while Olila High School WFC remain etched in history as the inaugural winners.

Other past champions include Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC, She Corporate, UCU Lady Cardinals, and Lady Doves, each boasting one title.

Action for the 2026 edition gets underway on 19 April with the preliminary round, played on a single-leg knockout format.

The intensity will heighten in the semifinals, which are set to be contested over two legs.

It was also confirmed that the grand finale of this year’s competition will be staged at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, setting the stage for a fitting climax to the tournament.
