The Hunters went off to a quick start at the Swedru Stadium on Friday afternoon, pinning the hosts to their own half early in the game. Out of nothing, they made the best of a second minute corner kick with Augustine Okrah scoring from inside the area.
The Hunters remained the better side with Eleven Wonders only showing occasional flashes of brilliance. Just on the stroke of half time, Okrah increased Bechem United’s lead with an easy tap-in after a poor defensive clearance by Eleven Wonders backline.
The brace was Okrah’s 13th goal in 25 appearances this season, helping Bechem move temporarily out of the relegation zone.
Eleven Wonders however kept pushing men forward and Eden Kofi Asamoah pulled a goal back after beating Bechem United keeper Emmanuel Anning in the 66th minute.
Just when Eleven Wonders thought they were coming back into the game, the eventual winners added a third in the 70th minute from Isaiah Nyarko, who latched on to a low cross to score from inside the area.
The victory was Bechem United’s third in their last four matches of the campaign while Wonders recorded their third consecutive defeats. Bechem now climb into 9th on the log with 40 points from 30 games this season while Eleven Wonders are rooted bottom with a paltry 10 points.
The Hunters will return to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to host Dreams FC in the postponed Week 30 fixture.
The Week 30 games were postponed in solidarity with the family of Berekum Chelsea forward Dominic Frimpong, who armed robbers shot dead last month.
