Ethiopian Insurance captain Hayder Sherefa stated that the journey to the top of the Ethiopian Premier League was a rocky one, but that the strength of the team helped them achieve the feat. Ethiopian Insurance are on the brink of securing a league title for the first time, holding a nine-point lead over second-placed Ethiopian Coffee.

Sherefa told SuperSport that Insurance started off the season on the wrong foot, but their perseverance pushed them to go further:
“We started off the new season with suspensions and multiple injuries. The likes of Allan and Mohammed were injured. There were suspensions from the past season too. We could not win the first four games. After the fifth round, we started winning and felt good from then on. We were working hard for it.”
The midfielder added that the journey was a tough one, but they needed to push themselves to the limit. “The journey was long and hard. With hard work, dedication, and more training, we managed to get through it. The road was not easy.”
The former Mekele 70 Enderta and Saint George player has already won the top flight and is now nearing another league title with Ethiopian Insurance. He captained Saint George to a league title and is close to repeating the feat with Insurance.
