Homeboyz warns Gor Mahia ahead of FKF Premier League face off

Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Clephas Shimanyula has warned FKF Premier League leaders Gor Mahia to anticipate a tough outing when the two sides face off at Mumias Complex on Sunday.

With five matches remaining to conclude the season, Gor Mahia will head into the fixture hoping to extend their lead at the top of nine points.

AFC Leopards, who are Gor Mahia’s closest rivals in second spot, will have no fixture this weekend after their game against Ulinzi Stars was postponed.

Gor Mahia will lose against Homeboyz

“It will not be business as usual for Gor Mahia. They know the kind of dosage we administer to them when they come to Kakamega, and it will not change; we will give them the same dosage of defeat,” said Shimanyula as quoted by Flashscore.

“We know they are fighting for the title, but they must know we don’t care about their chase for the title. We have our own ambitions to finish up the table, and we want to win all our remaining matches.

“We will not have mercy for Gor Mahia, we will not spare them, it will be a game like any other. We will fight for every ball; we want to show them we have a good team. It will not be easy for them; they should come prepared to pick their goals in a sack of bags.”

Asked whether Homeboyz want to beat Gor Mahia to help their ‘inlaws’ AFC Leopards, who are sitting second, Shimanyula responded: “It is not the case, we just want to beat Gor Mahia, and I want to tell them money will not buy points, if they talk about money, we also have money.”

Gor Mahia six points clear at the top

The first fixture this season between the two sides saw Gor Mahia beat Homeboyz 1-0. Last season, Homeboyz were not able to beat Gor Mahia. The first fixture ended in a 0-0 draw before Gor Mahia won the second meeting 2-0.

Gor Mahia are currently at the top with 61 points amassed from 18 wins, seven draws, and four defeats, while AFC Leopards are second with 55 points garnered from 16 wins, seven draws, and six defeats.

Gor Mahia’s last five matches will be against Kakamega Homeboyz, Kenya Police FC, Murang’a Seal, Mara Sugar, and conclude their campaign against Nairobi United.
