Doukouré who formerly played for French U-19, U-20, U21 and the Olympic team, went to the Consulate General of Côte d’Ivoire in Paris to initiate the process according to Séléphanto Football.
Doukouré’s output in the French Ligue 1 this season cannot be underestimated for his young age.
He has 22 out of a possible 30 appearances this campaign with a goal scored as Strasbourg sit in 8th on 46 points from 30 games.
He will add up to the growing list of dual citizenship players who have switched to play for the Elephants if his processes are ratified.
The three time African champions have already boast of Elye Wahi as well as Yann Gboho and Martial Godo.
Ange-Yoan Bony and Mohammed Diomande are already in the saddle of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations winners.
