The Morocco U20 international has signed his first professional contract with Rennes until 2028 having been at the club’s youth side since 2021.
The 20-year-old left-back, who can also play as a wing-back, was a finalist at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt where Morocco lost 1-0 in the final to South Africa.
Habri was among four youth players that were awarded professional contracts by Rennes as the Ligue 1 one outfit look to strengthen their bench.
He joins Kilian Belazzoug, Nordan Mukiele and Gabonese international Jonathan Do Marcolino to sign their first professional contracts with Rennes.
The decision by the French club to award Issa Habri his first professional contract reflects the club’s continued commitment to developing young talent through its academy system.
