Libyan Cup quarterfinals recap: Ary Papel scores super hat-trick as four teams reach the semi-finals

The quarter-finals of the Libyan Cup delivered thrilling action as Al Ahli Tripoli, Al Ittihad Tripoli, Al Akhdar, and Al Ahly Benghazi secured their places in the semi-finals.

Al Akhdar produced one of the standout performances of the round with a commanding 4-2 victory over Al Nasr SC Benghazi at Al Marj Stadium. Star forward Ary Papel was the hero of the night, delivering a sensational super hat-trick with goals in the 27th, 59th, 76th, and 85th minutes. His extraordinary display proved decisive, while Al Nasr’s efforts were not enough to prevent elimination.

In Sirte, defending champions Al Ahli Tripoli battled past Asswehly after a goalless draw, eventually triumphing 4-1 in the penalty shootout.

At Benghazi International Stadium, Al Ahly Benghazi came from behind to defeat Al Hilal Benghazi 2-1. After conceding early through Al Hilal’s Abu Bakr Kone, Al Ahly Benghazi responded through Mansour Rizk before Jibril Sylla netted the winning goal in the second half, sending his side into the final four.

Meanwhile, Al Ittihad Club secured qualification in dramatic fashion after edging past Al Madina SC on penalties. Following a 1-1 draw in regular time, Al Ittihad won the shootout 3-1 and joined the semi-final lineup.
