A few days after exiting the Airtel Top 8, Creck Sporting Club have found themselves in hot soup as three players are charged with misconduct.

Defenders Miracle Gabeya, Hadji Wali and George Chiomba have been taken to task for their questionable behaviour during the quarter-final second-leg game against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. Peter Mponda's Bullets won 1-0 at Nankhaka Stadium on April 26, 2025.

The Competition Committee of the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has confirmed the charge against the three players who risk stern punishment, including fines and suspensions.

Gabeya, Wali and Chaomba have been charged with assault offences contrary to Articles 23.3 and 23.4 of the Airtel Top 8 Rules and Regulations and read together with Article 14.1 (l) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

The former UD Songo player Gabeya is accused of assaulting FCB Nyasa Big Bullets player Babatunde Adepoju by stepping on his hand in an off-the-ball incident in the 23rd minute.

It is a similar case with Wali, who stepped on FCB Nyasa Big Bullets player Maxwell Gasten’s hand and leg in an off-ball incident in the 90th-minute. Chaomba, on the other hand, allegedly elbowed Henry Chiwaya of Bullets in an off-ball incident in the 49th minute.

Creck Sporting Club has been charged with failure to take all the necessary precautions to prevent their players from assaulting Big Bullets players, contrary to articles 23.3 and 23.4 of the Airtel Top 8 Rules and Regulations and article 14.1 (l) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

With the quarter-final first leg ending 0-0, Bullets won the reverse through Gasten’s goal to progress to the semi-final, where Karonga United awaits.
