Shumah: Power Dynamos FC media
Despite being ignored when it comes to Kenya national team selection, Moses Shumah continues to break new ground in the Zambian Premier League (ZPL).
In a latest development, ZPL has confirmed that the free-scoring Power Dynamos FC forward has broken the MTN Super League’s seven-year record.

“For seven years, Super League strikers were in bondage, then came Moses,” reads the statement.
“Moses Shumah becomes the first player since 2018 to score 20 goals and is still going.”
The Kenyan took his tally in the MTN Super League to 20 goals after scoring a double to help Dynamos secure a commanding 3-0 victory over Kabwe Warriors FC at Railway Stadium on Wednesday.
In adding two goals to his tally, the former Kakamega Homeboyz matched the record Congolese striker Idris Mbombo set when he scored 20 goals in the 2017-2018 campaign.
The victory registered on Wednesday moved Osward Mutapa’s outfit seven points clear at the top of the table, with 61 points from 27 matches. The striker signed a three-year deal with Dynamos at the start of the 2026 MTN Super League campaign
The goal-poacher has not given up on his dream of making into coach Benni McCarthy’s Harambee Stars’ squad.
The 23-year-old has since surpassed the 17 goals he registered last season to clinch the Football Kenyan Premier League Golden Boot.
Shumah was in the Harambee Stars’ provisional squad for the African Nations Championship last year. However, he was eventually overlooked.
The Kenyan will get another opportunity to increase on his tally when Dynamos face Konkola Blades FC on Saturday.
