Pyramids FC lose dramatically to Smouha in Nile Egyptian League

Smouha claimed a dramatic 2–1 victory over Pyramids FC in their Nile Egyptian League encounter, as the Alexandria-based side sealed all three points with a late strike at Borg El Arab Stadium in Round 17 of the competition.

The hosts wasted no time in taking the lead, opening the scoring as early as the 3rd minute through Samuel Amadi. Smouha capitalized on an early surge down the left flank, with a cross finding Amadi inside the box, where he unleashed a left-footed shot past goalkeeper Ahmed El Shenawy to give the Blue Wave an ideal start.

Pyramids found their equalizer in the 26th minute. Walid El Krati fired a shot that was saved by the goalkeeper then Fiston Mayele shot another one that was saved once again inside Smouha’s penalty area, allowing Zalaaka to pounce on the loose ball and slot it home. After a VAR check, the goal was confirmed, restoring parity for the visitors.

Just when the game appeared to be heading for a draw, Smouha struck again in the 88th minute. The players did a well-played counterattack, before Hossam Ashraf found the ball on the left flank and fired a shot to beat El Shenawy and send the home team into celebration.

Smouha secured a memorable win, handing Pyramids FC a setback in their league campaign and giving the race on the top spot more excitement.
