Richards Bay secure five players on long-term deals

South African Betway Premiership side Richards Bay FC have secured five players on long-term contracts as the Durban-based club looks ahead to next season.
A statement signed by Richards Bay media officer, Xolani Zungu, confirmed the contract extensions of midfielders Thulani Gumede, Wandile Ngema, defender Thabisa Ndelu, forwards Yanela Mbuthuma, and Ntlonelo Momelo.
“Richards Bay Football Club is excited to announce that the following players namely: Thulani Gumede, Yanela Mbuthuma, Wandile Ngema, Thabisa Ndelu and Ntlonelo Momelo have agreed to sign new improved contracts with the club,” the statement reads.
“These players have signed another five years with the club, ending in 2030. The club would further like to thank them for their dedication and wish them well.”
The Natal Rich Boys moved to secure the young players' futures days after their positive contributions in the 2-0 victory over SuperSport United on May 24. Mbuthuma scored the opening goal and was named man of the match. Gumede added the second goal to ensure the victory.
Richards Bay finished ninth in the Betway Premiership.
