Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah and his Cameroonian counterpart Bryan Mbeumo have been nominated for the 2024-2025 English Premier League Player of the Season Award.

Salah was nominated alongside Liverpool team-mates Ryan Gravenberch and Virgil van Dijk. The Liverpool trio have been recognised for leading the team’s march to the Premier League title with four games to spare.

Mbeumo is Brentford's only nominee, with his striker partner, Yoane Wissa, conspicuously omitted. The Congolese attacker and Mbeumo have scored 18 league goals apiece so far this season.

Salah and Mbeumo will battle it out for the accolade alongside Nottingham Forest's Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White, Newcastle United's Alexander Isak, and Arsenal's Declan Rice.

Favourite to claim the award, the 32-year-old has been instrumental in helping Arne Slot’s side to the Premier League title. It could be the second time he is recognised this season, having also been named the Football Writers Association's Footballer of the Year.

Voting for the award will run until Monday, May 19, with the winner set to be announced five days later.
