Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho revealed his delight in returning to Spanish La Liga club Sevilla after his loan spell with EFL Championship side Middlesborough finished at the end of the season.
“I’m really excited to be here. It’s a wonderful place. It was good to go out and to feel football in a different environment,” said Iheanacho to Mundo Deportivo.
"Sevilla is a great club. I loved my experience there. It’s a great team and I’ll be happy to get back there," he added.
The 28-year-old began his senior career at Manchester City during the 2015-16 season, where he won the Football League Cup. Iheanacho went on to play for Leicester City, winning the FA Cup in 2020-21.
Last season he made 15 appearances for Middlesborough, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
At international level, Iheanacho represented Nigeria's U-17 team at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, being named the tournament's best player and finishing as the second-highest goal scorer as he led the side to their record fourth title.
He went on to be called up to Nigeria's U-20 team for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, before making his senior international debut later in the same year.
