Heading into Wednesday’s match, the visitors knew that a victory would finish the job and the team responded brilliantly. They took a two-goal lead inside fifteen minutes and from that point on, it was only a matter of waiting for the full time whistle. Six points ahead of Al Ahli Dubai, Al Ain’s superior head-to-head record means they are the champions regardless of what happens in their final two games.
But just in case, three goals in the opening twenty minutes of the second half put the result even further beyond doubt. Former Al Ahly SC defender Rabia’s long ball found the run of Brazilian wingback Erik Menezes to score in the 51st minute. Three minutes later, it was Soufiane Rahimi who made it 4-0 with a low shot when he received a cross from Marcel Ratnik at the edge of the penalty area.

Kodjo Laba also got the start, and despite not scoring, the Togolese striker played a massive role in the title-winning campaign. He is well on course to be the league’s top scorer for the fourth time in his career with 20 goals from 24 league matches.
In the 63rd minute, powerful defender Rabia finished the scoring to add further to the celebrations. The Al Sharjah defense hardly put up resistance as the Egyptian arrived to head in Matías Palacios’ corner kick.

Despite the consistent heroics of Laba over his seven seasons with the club, Al Ain had won only one league title during the Togolese forward’s stay but have now added to their record as the all-time leading champions in the United Arab Emirates with a 15th top flight trophy.
For his part, Rahimi now has impressed as well with 7 goals and 2 assists from 14 matches after a difficult start to the 2025-26 season. His brother, El Houssine, added 5 goals in league action after joining from Raja Casablanca to create a special moment for the two Moroccan attackers.
