Friday Ekpo backs Victor Osimhen as ideal Bayern striker

Former Nigerian international Friday Ekpo sees Victor Osimhen as a suitable replacement for Harry Kane at German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich.

​Various reports have emerged regarding the future of Bayern Munich’s attacking line, and Vincent Kompany has reportedly been monitoring the Nigerian striker since the early stages of his career.

The German giants are looking ahead despite Kane’s impressive 45 goals in 37 appearances this season, as the Englishman’s contract is set to expire in 2027.

​Reacting to the development, Ekpo told Completesports.com while the reports may seem like speculation, Osimhen’s proven goal-scoring attributes make him an ideal candidate.

“This may sound like speculation, but then there may be an element of truth in Bayern Munich’s move to have Osimhen as an ideal replacement for Kane.

Mind you, Osimhen has shown that he can score goals and provide assists as well at Galatasaray. He’s a natural goal machine like Kane, and I am not surprised Bayern are showing interest in signing him.”

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray initially on loan before making a high-profile permanent move in the summer of 2025, has been in sensational form in Turkey.
