Victor Osimhen and Mario Lemina fire Galatasaray to historic 26th Süper Lig title

Victor Osimhen and Mario Lemina were on the scoresheet as Galatasaray secured their record 26th Turkish Süper Lig title, defeating Antalyaspor 4-2 on Saturday at Rams Park.

In a match that saw both teams struggle to break the deadlock early on, it was the visitors who took the lead just before the half-time break. Soner Dikmen’s strike sent the Galatasaray faithful into a panic as they headed into the interval with a 1-0 deficit.

Coming into the second half, head coach Okan Buruk made tactical substitutions that immediately paid off. Gabonese midfielder Mario Lemina, introduced at the break, leveled the score for the defending champions in the 56th minute.

However, the tension returned just six minutes later when Dikmen found the net again to restore Antalyaspor’s lead.

The game was far from over, as Aslanlar (The Lions) were awarded a penalty in the 66th minute. Victor Osimhen dispatched the spot-kick with composure to give Buruk’s side a fighting chance.

The Nigerian international then handed his side their first lead of the night in the 88th minute after connecting with fellow substitute Noa Lang.

Kaan Ayhan eventually wrapped up the victory in stoppage time to confirm the championship.

A historic triumph for the Lions

This victory marks a monumental achievement for Galatasaray, securing their fourth consecutive league title and moving them to 77 points on Matchday 33.

While the Lions celebrate, the defeat is a bitter pill for Antalyaspor. The loss leaves them in 16th place and deeply embroiled in the relegation battle, meaning they must secure a result in the final matchday to ensure their survival in the topflight.
