Italian Serie A club Torino’s attack has been boosted by the return of Moroccan striker Zakaria Aboukhlal.
The 26-year-old returned to the training ground on Tuesday morning, nearly a month after his last appearance, following surgery in Amsterdam.
Aboukhlal suffered a severe contusion to his right knee during a training session in February, which sidelined him for several weeks.
On April 7, he underwent arthroscopic revision surgery in Amsterdam to assess and treat the consequences of the injury.
He completed his post-operative recovery in the Netherlands before returning to Turin participating in the morning training session at the Filadelfia stadium.
He is to be assessed by Torino’s medical staff to determine if and when he will be available for the remaining matches of the season.
Aboukhlal has yet to make his debut under the new coach Roberto D’Aversa as former Toulouse FC, hasn’t played for almost two months.
The Moroccan forward will now have to regain his form to earn a place in the squad and convince D’Aversa to give him his first minutes this season.
