Ademola Lookman’s lightning performance since joining La Liga side Atletico Madrid has generated debate on the continent of Africa and the world over.
The 28-year-old forward scored the most important goal to secure Atletico’s UEFA Champions League semifinal spot despite a 2-1 loss against ten-man Barcelona in the return leg on Tuesday.

The Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium was stunned when Barcelona drew the first blood in the fourth minute through the effort of Spanish wonderkid Lamine Yamal.

Having secured a 3-2 aggregate in the bag after a 3-1 victory from the first leg, Atletico Madrid will now face the winner between Arsenal and Sporting Club.

He played six games, scoring four times with four assists as Nigeria claimed bronze at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in January.
