LA Galaxy winger Joseph Paintsil is brimming with joy following his debut Major Lesgue Soccer [MLS] goal and assist this season.
The 28-year-old, who grappled with a muscle injury weeks back, returned to the team’s starting line up for their away game at FC Dallas on Saturday.
“First of all, I will give thanks to God. It’s been a rough journey for me with injuries,”

His fine finish just on the stroke of half time plus a 43rd minute assist to Lucas Sanabria ensured LA Galaxy posted a 2-2 draw FCD.
In a post match-interview, the former Genk winger shared his happiness.
“First of all I will give thanks to God, it’s been a rough journey for me with injuries but now I just thank God for me coming back.
“Me having an assist and a goal is really wonderful [and] we just keep on going because coming here and playing is really tough and we having these points is really something great.
“So we keep on working and (against) Columbus [Crew], we take something there and finish it.”
Paintsil was making his first start since recovering from injury, having missed seven matches after being sidelined in early March.
The victory ensured that the Galaxy extended their scoring streak to seventeen consecutive league matches, with Paintsil’s contribution being key to the side.
The result leaves LA Galaxy with nine points from eight matches, while Dallas move to thirteen points from six games.
