Frank Anguissa: Turkish giants pursue Napoli midfielder

Turkish Super Lig clubs Galatasaray and Besiktas are set for a collision course for the signature of Cameroon, and Napoli midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa.

The Cameroonian international has grappled with a back injury this season, limiting his playing time to just 17 appearances in the Italian Serie A.

The 30-year-old returned last month and has reclaimed his position in midfield under the guidance of Italian manager, Antonio Conte.

Anguissa’s has 66 caps for Cameroon

With his contract set to expire in June 2027, the rugged midfielder will be seeking opportunities elsewhere with English Premier League club, Sunderland reportedly Eyong a move for Anguissa.

His current market value per transfermarkt is pegged at €20 million Euros and Napoli will look to part with him after four seasons.

Frank Anguissa missed out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations through the back injury where the Indomitable Lions exited at the quarter finals stage after losing 2-0 to hosts Morocco.

The former Marseille midfielder has scored four goals with two assists from 17 games this season.

The Coton Sport graduate previously played for Stade Reims B, Olympique Marseille, Fulham FC and Villarreal.

The Yaoundé born has made 66 international appearances, scoring five goals for Cameroon.

He has won two Serie A titles with Napoli and was a member of Cameroon squad that won bronze at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.
