Felipe Augusto pulled one back for Trabzonspor in the 79th minute but it was a little too late to save them from the claws of defeat in the week 31 fixture.
Cameroon goalkeeper, Andre Onana shared some words after Trabzonspor’s painful defeat.
“We were well aware of the importance of the match; we faced a good opponent.
“By evaluating the amounts spent by Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, we can see that Trabzonspor has had a good season.
“Today, we wanted to win, but it didn’t work out. We must continue our fight. Everything is tied to the present and the future. The past remains in the past; we must look to the future.” He said.
Trabzonspor remain in third on the league table with 65 points from 21 matches, two points behind second placed Fenerbahce and nine points adrift of leaders Galatasary.
Onana has chalked impressive statistics since joining Trabzonspor on loan from English Premier League club Manchester United.
For this season, the former Ajax and Inter Milan shot stopper has made 27 appearances, conceding 33 goals with six clean sheets.
