The hosts had looked on course for a vital win thanks to Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s first-half penalty, but Beyuku’s composed finish ensured the title race narrative remained firmly in Vipers’ control.
KCCA started with purpose, knowing victory would cut the gap at the summit, but the Venoms showed early intent despite being forced into a fifth-minute change when Derrick Ndahiro replaced the injured Enock Luyima.
Chances came quickly. Ashraf Mugume tested Denis Kiggundu from a set piece, while Enock Ssebagala had the ball in the net moments later only for the effort to be ruled out for offside.
Ssebagala continued to threaten, but goalkeeper Mugulofa stood firm with a sharp save midway through the half. The breakthrough arrived in the 34th minute when Ahimbisibwe was brought down inside the area.
The forward dusted himself off and confidently dispatched the penalty, handing KCCA a deserved 1-0 lead heading into the break and taking his league tally to 12 goals.

After the restart, the tempo lifted with both sides pushing KCCA eager to double their advantage and the leaders determined to protect their unbeaten run on the pitch.
The turning point came in the 72nd minute when Beyuku was introduced for Yunus Sentamu.
His impact proved decisive. With time winding down, a well-worked Vipers move carved open the KCCA defence, and Karim Watambala teed up Beyuku, who finished calmly to restore parity.
The draw keeps the reigning champions firmly in command at the top with 59 points, maintaining a seven-point cushion over KCCA, who move to 52.
The Venoms’ only blemish this season remains an off-field ruling by the FUFA Disciplinary Panel.
With the title race entering its final stretch, Vipers could edge closer to the crown depending on other results, and victories in their upcoming fixtures would all but seal it.
Next up, Vipers take on Kitara in the Stanbic Uganda semifinal first leg before hosting URA FC, while KCCA return to Lugogo to face Maroons FC as the chase continues.
Earlier in the day, the fight for survival in the top flight took another twist with struggling sides Calvary FC and Buhimba FC suffering damaging defeats that leave their top-flight status hanging by a thread.
Calvary sit bottom on 13 points, while Buhimba are just above them with 15 both now five points away from safety in a race quickly running out of time.
Elsewhere, Police FC continued their push for a strong finish with a convincing 2-0 victory over UPDF FC at Kamwokya. Goals from Charles Bbaale and Brian Obedi secured maximum points in a confident display.
