Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has explained how he is working hard to return from an injury he suffered while playing for Fulham against Brentford in a Premier League fixture on April 18.
The Super Eagle has missed three consecutive Premier League games including the fixture against Arsenal, with manager Marco Silva confirming he was unavailable for the match against Bournemouth on May 9.
The injury occurred in the first half of the match against Brentford when he pulled up while chasing a ball, and he walked straight the tunnel after being taken off.
“I’m just walking through my neighbourhoods, going through the shops. Obviously, the reason why I’m doing this is to get some blood flow and oxygen into the legs, make sure my legs are not just indoors, and keep active,” Iwobi told Alexander Yaa Digg podcast.
“Right now, as it stands, I have got a hamstring injury, so I’m going to keep on the move and get my steps in. It’s unfortunate to get a hamstring injury. I appreciate the support and the love that everyone’s showing me, and everyone checking on me.
“As of now, I don’t know how bad it is. I’m able to walk, though I’ve got a limp, so that’s a positive. I’ve got a scan soon, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery.”
On the injury, the former Arsenal player said: “I’m just grateful that I don’t really get injured on a regular basis because it is mentally challenging. Even me, now that I’m injured, I’m just fuming.

“I can’t be active; I can’t move freely. But that’s life; it is part of the game.”
The injury setback saw Iwobi, who has so far managed 27 Premier League appearances with four goals and three assists, ruled out of the Unity Cup slated for London.
Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has opted for an experimental squad, resting key regulars like Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman to test new talent. The squad heavily features emerging stars and home-based talents, including Plymouth striker Oseni, Millwall’s Femi Azeez, and AIK’s Zadok Yohanna.
