Late goals from Jean Claude Girumugisha and Ahmed Salem secured a 2-0 Rwanda Premier League (BK Pro League) victory for Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman against relegation candidates AS Muhanga on Sunday.

Burundian superstar Girumugisha once again showed his flair for the spectacular, firing in a powerful effort at the near post in the 79th minute to break past a strong defensive resistance from Muhanga.
The heavy favorites created some danger but failed to finish their chances throughout most of the match, which came three days after a statement-making 4-0 thrashing of reigning Rwandan champions APR FC.
However, an overmatched Muhanga team could not hold out forever at home. Taking down a switch of play, Girumugisha powered his way past and held off a defender before crushing a shot that was too much for the goalkeeper to handle.
Late on, it was Salem who scored from the opposite wing in similar circumstances with a powerful cut inside before his shot also snuck in just inside the near post.
The Sudanese champions, who dominated last season’s Super D1 in Mauritania as a guest team, are doing the same this season in Rwanda. They lead fellow Sudanese guest club Al Merrikh by twelve points with only four rounds remaining. Merrikh and APR, the reigning champions who occupy third place, will be in action later on Sunday.
Muhanga, on the other hand, are locked in a tight relegation fight and occupy second from last position on the table with the bottom two clubs set to be relegated.
