Bayern Munich wonderkid Bara Sapoko Ndiaye has revealed his future ambitions for club and country.
The 18-year-old midfielder spoke for the first time on Bayern Munich’s channel after his debut with the first team under Belgium boss Vincent Kompany.
The young Senegalese midfielder didn’t hide his emotions as he reflected on his first steps with the squad.
“The first time I was there, I was a little nervous, but now it’s getting better and better,” he explained, describing how his adaptation is happening naturally with each passing day.
He particularly remembers his conversations with his coach, Vincent Kompany, who encourages him to stay focused on his work.
“He told me to keep working hard. That’s what makes the difference,” he emphasized.
For him, his integration is also facilitated by the atmosphere in the locker room.
Bara Ndiaye highlighted the warm welcome he received from his teammates, as well as the presence of French-speaking players, which makes communication easier.
“They are very kind. Upamecano is like a brother to me.”
“Many people speak French, so it’s not difficult for me to interact,” he says.
Against St. Pauli, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye came on in the 84th minute for Jamal Musiala during their 5-0 away win.
Having come through the Gambian youth side Gambinos Stars Africa, he made an immediate impact in his first minutes with Bayern Munich’s first team.
But beyond his club debut, the midfielder still has a goal of representing his country.
“I want to play football at the highest level, but also play for Senegal and help my team win,” he concludes.
He will be one for Senegal’s future alongside Paris Saint-Germain winger, Ibrahim Mbaye who made his AFCON debut for the Teranga Lions in Morocco.
