Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel believes a top-eight finish is possible if they win their last two Betway Premiership games, starting with Sekhukhune United on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
The Angolan said this as AmaKhosi travel to the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo Province to face Eric Tinkler’s charges.
“We have the target of the top eight, but we take each game by game, and our attention is totally on the Sekhukhune game. If we get the three points, we are closer to the top eight, and then we will try to win the last game as well,” Miguel told Chiefs’ media.
The defender admitted that Sekhukhune were tough opponents. “We have to be honest and say that Sekhukhune have had a good season. They are in third place. We are expecting a difficult game, but we are focused on the mission to win every game we play. We have already shown them that we are capable of beating them, so we go into the match with confidence,” he added.
The former Petro de Luanda player has since urged his teammates to forget their Nedbank Cup triumph over Orlando Pirates and focus on the new target.
“We understand 100% that our supporters are still celebrating, and so they should, but as players, as soon as we got back to the Village, we changed our focus onto the league. We know we have two difficult games now and we are taking it very seriously,” he added.
The Glamour Boys atoned for their league struggles with a 2-1 win over Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final last weekend.
