Lamine Ndiaye, head coach of USM Alger, spoke about his team’s preparations ahead of their first-leg showdown against Zamalek SC in the CAF Confederation Cup final.
USM Alger will host Zamalek on Saturday, 9 May 2026, at Stade 5 Juillet 1962 in Algeria in the first leg of the continental final.
Speaking during Friday’s pre-match press conference, Ndiaye said:
“We prepared for tomorrow’s match in the best possible way and under the best circumstances.”
The Senegalese tactician also highlighted his players’ focus following their recent domestic success.
“After winning the Algerian Cup, our players immediately shifted their full concentration to the Confederation Cup final.”
Ndiaye further praised his squad’s readiness after observing their preparation.
“From what I have seen in our latest training sessions, the players will be fully prepared for the Zamalek match.”
Looking ahead to both legs of the final, he stressed:
“We must produce our best level in both final matches in order to win the title.”
Fresh off their Algerian Cup triumph, USM Alger enter the final with momentum and confidence as they seek to secure another major continental trophy against one of Africa’s most decorated clubs.
