Karl Etta Eyong gave Levante’s La Liga relegation battle a shot in the arm in on Friday when the Cameroonian came off the bench to head in a 90th minute goal to give his club a 3-2 victory over Osasuna.
The Frogs overcame a disastrous start to claim all three points at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia. Two goals inside the opening eleven minutes put visitors Osasuna in a strong position, and after suffering a crushing 1-5 defeat in their last match it appeared that the hosts were down for the count.
But Víctor García scored his first two goals of the campaign at the perfect time, in quick succession, to bring Levante level by halftime. Their cause was further boosted just before halftime when Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera put himself in a difficult position far outside his box and was issued a red card for touching the ball with his hand to prevent a goal scoring opportunity.
Even with the numerical advantage and plenty of opportunities, it appeared that fortune may not be on the side of the hosts despite their desperate need of a victory. But Etta Eyong, who has had a miserable 2026 for his club while finding some success with the Cameroon national team, came off the bench and provided the critical finish.
Throwing numbers forward, a lofted ball into the Osasuna penalty area was nodded across the six-yard box by Alan Matturro where the Cameroonian was wide open to finish with a diving header. After a brilliant start to life with his current club that saw him score five goals in his first seven matches, it was the forward’s first goal in Spanish football since October 26!

The result is massive, bringing the club from Valencia within a point of moving out of the relegation zone. They are one point behind Sevilla and only three points away from Valencia CF in 12th place, giving them plenty of hope with three matches remaining.
