Pyramids FC red-hot striker Fiston Mayele has confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi once contacted him, but insists this is not the right moment to discuss the matter.

Speaking to the South African Broadcasting Corporation, the former Yanga SC player said his focus is on the 2025 CAF Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

“I am concentrating on the final and finishing the season, then I can talk about it. At the moment, this is not a priority,” he said.

The 30-year-old admitted that Nabi called him in December 2024 over a possible transfer to the Betway Premiership strugglers.

“The coach Nabi was in contact with me in December, but it is not the moment to talk about it,” said Mayele.

Nabi worked with Mayele at Young Africans SC in Tanzania before securing a big-money move to the Egyptian Premier League team.

The Congolese international has been a revelation for Pyramids this season, scoring twice in the Champions League semifinal to oust Orlando Pirates and reach the final. The Nedbank Cup-winning coach wants to work with Mayele again at Chiefs.
