Video: Sodiq Awujoola nets fastest goal of the Egyptian League season

Sodiq Awujoola reached a new milestone by scoring the fastest goal of the current Nile Egyptian League season during Ceramica Cleopatra’s 2-0 victory over Smouha in the third round of the title phase.

Awujoola opened the scoring just 38 seconds into the match, reacting smartly to a rebound from Fakhri Lakay’s shot to head the ball into the net.

The Nigerian forward’s strike set the tone for Ceramica’s win, which was later sealed by Ayman Moka.

With this goal, Awujoola raised his tally to seven Egyptian league goals this season.

The current campaign now stands as his second-best scoring season in the Egyptian league, behind his 2021-22 season with Smouha.

Awujoola had also impressed during the 2023-24 season, where he scored 11 goals in all competitions —his best tally to date.

Overall this season, the Nigerian has made 26 appearances across all competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists.
